Fall Release Wildrose Vineyard Aidan Pinot Noir
2010
Winemaker’s Notes
This is an outstanding follow-up to its highly-regarded 2009 predecessor and another in the line of great Wildrose vineyard expressions. The astonishing amount of bright juicy cool climate fruit present here is really quite something – the wine is so alive and exciting that it will be hard to resist while young. However, with air (and therefore with bottle-age) the wine gradually unfolds to reveal classic vineyard purity and a more serious non-fruit vineyard signature. With its naturally high acidity, elevated by this cool growing season, the wine has an overt fresh pine needle and redwood vitality that will always keep it vibrant and precise. With bottle aging though, the fruits will mellow, deepen and turn to truffle and roast meat flavors. This will be a fascinating wine to follow along its aging curve.
Medium dark ruby red. Bright, vibrant and high-toned aromas with great energy. Rainier cherry, fresh raspberry, pine needle, fragrant roses, a touch of iron. Classic coastal palate with explosive fruits: fresh raspberry coulis, huckleberry, bing cherry. Full-bodied, rich and satisfying, but always bright and juicy. Dusty cocoa powder, tobacco and more pine needle freshness to finish. Drink between 2012 and 2020.
